This is a little project I made when I wanted to try a Pod style carrier but didn’t want to take the time to sew a whole one, as you need rather long straps. I was thinking I would have to cut up one of my wraps to get fabric long enough to make the straps, which I didn’t want to do, then realised I could just make a casing in the Pod body to thread the wrap through and save cutting it up!
1. Here is the body of the pod, all creased from being folded up. I made it reversible with pink and brown drill to match my Maruyama Vatanai wrap. It’s out on loan at present so the wrap in the pictures is Ulli Storch.
2. This is the casing at the top. It’s not quite wide enough to comfortably thread, but works really well when wearing, I don’t know if you’d want it any wider.
3. The wrap folded neatly at the centre marker – I just folded in half and half and half again, you could try an accordion fold if you wished. Or perhaps fold in half first then accordion fold.
4. Threaded through, before being spread out.
5. With the wrap fanned out. It’s 2 layers of wrap there, folded in half.
I’ll try and get an action shot…when I’ve done my hair LOL!
